A Directive from Governor Steve Sisolak will take effect at 11:59p.m. Thursday. This directive is a result of Covid-19 cases surging in Nevada. The directive states that masks must be worn in all indoor public spaces. This will mean that Nevada Casino Guests will be required to wear masks while inside casinos. The following are the rules of the Directive affecting all residents and tourists.
Here are the rules as follows:
- Nevadans and visitors don't need to wear medical-grade N95 masks.
- Fabric coverings like a bandana or cloth covering is accepted.
- Businesses that fail to meet requirements will face violations from licensing agencies and regulatory authorities.
- Businesses have the right to ask a customer to leave if they are not following this directive.
- Nevadans and visitors without masks won’t be fined, but the governor did not rule out the possibility of monetary penalties.
The mask mandate does not apply to:
- Children between the ages of 2 and 9.
- People experiencing homelessness, though they are encouraged to take protective measures to the greatest extent possible
- People who can’t wear a face covering for medical reasons or because of a disability.
- Employees who could be put at risk for wearing a mask — Sisolak noted police have expressed concerns about it. The policy is up to each jurisdiction on how those employees comply.
- No mask is needed while eating or drinking at a restaurant so long as social distance is achieved.
- People engaging in outdoor recreation like swimming, walking, hiking, biking or running as long as they can remain socially distant from others.
- People who are incarcerated.

When and where am I required to wear a face covering? Whenever you leave the house. To keep businesses open and help slow the spread, face coverings are required.
Face coverings should be worn at all times in the following circumstances: o Public spaces: o Inside of, or standing in line waiting to enter, any indoor
PUBLIC SPACE.
1. Inside of, or standing in line waiting to enter, any indoor public space
2 While outside in a public space when 6 feet of social distancing from those not in your same household isn’t possible.
PUBLIC OR PRIVATE TRANSPORTATION OR PARATRANSIT THAT OTHERS HAVE USED OR WILL USE:
1.While waiting for or riding on public transportation or paratransit. o While riding in taxis, private car services, monorails, trams, and rideshares like Uber and Lyft. O
2. While driving or operating any form of transportation or paratransit when passengers not in your same household are present. When no passengers are present, face coverings are still strongly recommended.
WHILE AT WORK:
1. When interacting in-person with members of the public.
2. When in any space visited by the general public, even if no one else is present.
3. When in any space where food is prepared or packaged, for sale, or generally distributed to others. o When walking though common areas, such as hallways, stairways, elevators, and parking facilities.
4. In any room or enclosed area where other people (except for members of the person’s own household or residence) are present when unable to physically distance.
CHILDREN
The following children should never wear a face covering: Those 2 years of age and under, to avoid potential risk of suffocation. Those who have a mental health condition, medical condition, or disability that prevents them from wearing a face covering. Those who are engaged in strenuous physical activity.
