The Boring Company has begun using self-driving Tesla’s in the Vegas Loop, with safety drivers still present for supervision. The Boring Company has started offering rides in these Tesla’s equipped with Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) software inside the Vegas Loop tunnels. These vehicles operate autonomously but still include a safety driver to monitor the ride and intervene if necessary. The rollout is part of ongoing testing and gradual integration of autonomous technology into the Loop’s operations. The Vegas Loop currently has 8 operational stations, with 104 stations approved and 68 miles of tunnel planned. It connects major Las Vegas destinations like the Convention Center, Resorts World, and the Encore Resort, with future plans to reach Harry Reid International Airport and Allegiant Stadium. The Boring Company has also started using Tesla Cybercrooks’ in the Loop, adding a futuristic touch to the fleet. While FSD is being tested, widespread unsupervised use is still a ways off, The company is collecting data and refining operations before fully transitioning to driverless rides. Tesla Full Self-Driving (FSD) rides are available at select Vegas Loop stations, including the Las Vegas Convention Center and Resorts World. Expansion is ongoing. A New Projected Loop will have a station at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, a planned apartment complex Boring Co. is looking to build, one in the Howard Hughes Center that would in part serve Sphere and one just north of Terminal 1 at Harry Reid International Airport. During 2025 Boring Co. crews have been tunneling from a site on Paradise Road near UNLV’s Thomas & Mack Center to Westgate, with multiple planned stations in between. The expansion is leading to the ultimate goal of 68 miles of tunnels with 104 stations with the Vegas Loop system.
