A WHITE NEW YEAR’S EVE

Snow expected on the Strip December 30, 2021

Weather in Las Vegas has been exceptionally cold this winter. Though snow is an uncommon sight in the valley, gamblers may wish to bet on white. It's looking more likely than not that Las Vegas is going to bring in 2022 with a bit of snow.
The night before the night (December 30), there's an 80% chance of snow. On New Year's Day, the weather forecast reads, "50% chance of frozen mix." This could mean hail, freezing rain, sleet, snow, ice -- just something cold and potentially hard that hasn't had a chance to melt on it's way from the sky to the ground.
Day time temperatures for the next week are going to be in the 40s and 50s, with nights getting all the way down to below freezing at some points. Though most nights it just chilly and cloudy, with the chance of some damp weather, and temperatures stay slightly above freezing.
New Year's Eve fireworks are still expected to take place right as the clock strikes midnight, bringing in 2022 with the optimism that is characteristic of the holiday. The entirety of Las Vegas Boulevard shuts down to vehicles, and for the day it becomes a pedestrian zone.
Though the weather may be uncooperative, the major hotels on the Strip are still ready to dazzle the crowds.   After tourists and brave locals watch fireworks from outside the comfort of the casinos, they can head back inside to the free hot beverages of their choice. Perhaps even with a fresh layer of snow on their Coats!
