Cirque du Soleil will be returning to Las Vegas in 2021. The landmark show "O" will be the likely first Cirque to return. "O" passed the 10,000-show mark prior to closing making it the most successful show over the past 20 years. There was no other show that sold as many tickets year after year over the last 20 years.
Just before Thanksgiving the Montreal based entertainment group announced the closure of a purchase agreement with its secured lenders and that the company had emerged from the creditor protection period for which it filed in June 2020 in Canada and the United States. The new investment group is led by the Toronto firm Capital Catalyst Group and the co-chairs of the new Cirque du Soleil Board of Directors are former MGM Resorts International CEO Jim Murren and Catalyst Managing Director Gabriel deAlba.
