MANDALAY BAY and the MIRAGE, have CLOSED their hotel towers during weekdays through the end of December. Restaurants, attractions and the Casino remain open. PARK MGM, has made a similar move where the hotel tower is closed Mondays through Thursdays.
The PALAZZO joins the ranks of hotels on the Strip temporarily CLOSING, only this move keeps rooms CLOSED seven days a week. Parent company Las Vegas Sands Corp. says that the move was made to “better reflect occupancy patterns” through December 23. Visitors instead can stay at the Venetian.
The PALAZZO originally closed its hotel for weekday stays in July. Operations at the PALAZZO’s Restaurants such as Majordomo Meat & Fish and Mott 32, as well as bars including Electra Cocktail Club and Rosina continue, and Restaurants and Shops at the Grand Canal Shoppes and the Resort’s Casino Floor remain open.
PARK MGM is CLOSED from noon Mondays through noon Thursdays. The NoMad hotel, Casino and Restaurants at Park MGM will remain Open.
The ENCORE at WYNN LAS VEGAS operating hours are from Thursday 2pm to Monday at noon.
The WYNN LAS VEGAS is closing some casual restaurants on select weekdays, including Charlie’s Bar + Grill and The Buffet. Some fine-dining venues also will operate on a limited basis throughout the week. At WYNN'S ENCORE RESORT, the spa and salon will be closed during weekdays, and will operate on a limited basis throughout the week.
The closures represent the ongoing low midweek occupancy rates across the city. The LAS VEGAS CONVENTION and VISITORS AUTHORITY has reported weekend occupancy rates of 64 percent, while weekday rates plummeted to 39 percent.
