Gladys Knight to Sing the National Anthem


             Long time Las Vegas resident and 7 time Grammy Winner Gladys Knight will sing the  National Anthem before the Las Vegas Raiders' season opener on Monday.
             The team announced the Empress of Soul will sing "Star-Spangled Banner" ahead of the Monday Night Football game against Baltimore at Allegiant Stadium.
             "This is quite an honor for me to be chosen to sing the National Anthem for this historic first Raiders’ season-opening Monday Night Football game in Las Vegas with fans," Knight said in a statement. "The Raiders are like family to me and I’ve been a Raiders fan for decades."
             In addition, F-35A fighter jets from Nellis Air Force Base will perform a flyover in formation during the anthem.
             Former Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval will light the Al Davis Memorial Torch.
             Monday Nights  Raider Season Opener, September 13, will be the first Las Vegas Raider Game at Allegiant Stadium with fans in attendance. Beginning on September 13, 2021, all Raiders home game attendees ages 12 and over must provide proof of vaccination to enter. Fully vaccinated individuals will NOT be required to wear a face mask while inside the stadium.
