Wynn Returns to Light the Al Davis Torch
Las Vegas Legend Steve Wynn returned to Las Vegas to light the Al Davis Torch at Allegiant Stadium.
Wynn was a visionary and developed The Mirage, Treasure Island, Bellagio and Wynn Las Vegas-Encore. Wynn also owned the Golden Nugget downtown and helped revolutionize Fremont Street. Wynn left Las Vegas in disgrace. Whatever your opinion of Steve Wynn he changed the face of Las Vegas in very positive ways.
His appearance at Allegiant Stadium, which was greeted with a warm welcome, was Wynn’s first public event in Las Vegas since he left Wynn Las Vegas-Encore.
Raiders owner Mark Davis tapped Wynn for the honor as a tribute to Wynn’s early support for moving the team to Las Vegas. Wynn, along with Sheldon Adelson, was a major driving force on behalf of Las Vegas in landing an NFL team and building Allegiant Stadium.
Mark Davis and City of Las Vegas should be eternally grateful as they review the results of the first two Raider home games with projections toward the future. Las Vegas is now a major sports destination second to none....
The Raiders football team moving to Las Vegas resulted in an increase in value of approximately $1B for Mark Davis.
